Public meetings starting on giant Texas highway project

The Trans-Texas Corridor, which according to just about all official counts isn’t actually happening, was planned out further at a meeting last night. Officials insist they have no plans yet. Frankly we don’t believe them! We applaud the residents in Texas for fighting this project and fighting the push to dilute our national sovereignty to create a de facto North American union.

After a projected completion date of the last week in October, the switch was officially thrown on Nov. 21. The new signal light will hopefully serve to staunch the steady trickle of vehicle accidents that have occurred in the last few years. State officials say they hope by the end of 2008 to have a better idea of an exact route for the I-69/Trans-Texas Corridor after town hall meetings and public hearings are completed.

Oops! Drivers sink into wet concrete

As many as 10 vehicles drove around barriers and onto freshly poured concrete on a busy thoroughfare during rush hour. Two got stuck, Mequon police said Thursday. “Once someone goes around the barricade and busts through the tape, others follow,” Sgt. Tony Restivo said.
